We'd like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and a Happy 6th Pixpet Anniversary! (We realize we're a bit late, so we apologize!) To those of you who've been around the site for a long time, thank you so much for playing and continuing to help us improve the game over the years! Your support means a lot us. And to those who joined recently, a big welcome and we hope you'll stick around to make some new memories with us! Without further ado, today's update! New Legendary Pet A new, but strangely familiar legendary pet has been discovered! However, it's been difficult to get a good look at it because of its blinding sheen. If you see it, make sure to wear protective eye gear!  This is a New Year's pet that will be available from today until March 31, 11:59 PM (PST). This pet is a bit of a collaboration, as it's based on an old concept sketch by @Komodo, and the spritework was done by me (BK) -- so please blame me for any art mistakes you notice! π Either way, we hope you enjoy it, and thank you Komodo for letting us use your awesome sketch! New Decor Something icy for your walls, plus a jolly recolor of the kitchen and bathroom set, brought to you by @HappyElanda!       New Pixpal A frosty new pal appears!  Additionally, look forward to a sitewide gift that will be coming in the next few days, courtesy of @HappyElanda! Classic Winter Items & Pets Return! If you missed them last year, don't fret! Older winter items, pets and pals are back and you can view them on the Pixpet Wiki (thank you so much to our wiki contributors)!    Now Available: Pixpet Merch Some of you may have already noticed the banner, but our merch shop is now live! Right now there are just a few things there, but soon I'll begin working on the suggestions that you all provided in a recent poll. In fact, those of you who suggested to put @Lorienee's gorgeous ancestry paintings on merch might be happy to see these! (Also, you may have noticed that Halloween is still up even though it was scheduled to end today. This is due to a discussion we had on the Pixpet Discord server about the possibility of extending it a bit longer so players can find some items they missed. Let's start with some new decorations! Bathroom Decor Now your pets can be more hygienic with these cozy bathroom items from our artist @HappyElanda!        Coming Soon... Pixpet Redbubble That's right, we're finally working towards opening a merch shop! The first designs will feature the five starter pets (Drax, Canisqua, Unicubb, Feliphene, and Troffinch) including their Vivid counterparts.   These designs will also be available on other products such as stickers, pins, posters, phone cases, mugs, clocks, coasters, pillows, tote bags, laptop sleeves/skins, notebooks, pet products, and more! We aim to open the merch shop either late November or early December (please yell at BK to not procrastinate lol). In the meantime, if you have questions or suggestions about merch, we'll be happy to answer them in this thread or you can send a PM to @BK47! Decor Design Contest    Normally we announce contests on the day that they begin, but we're excited to tell you about this one in advance so that you can get your creative juices flowing! @HappyElanda will be hosting a decoration design contest from December 15th to January 15th. The theme will be Room -- that is, participants will be asked design a set of furniture for a room type of their choosing, such as bedroom, kitchen, attic, dining room, living room, etc. Additional details and rules will be in the contest post when it begins. We look forward to seeing everyone's designs in December!  Poll Questions Answer feedback questions below to receive PPT! 10 PPT will be awarded per numbered question! (Note: Your account must be older than this news post to receive the PPT rewards. Newer accounts may still answer the questions, but will not receive PPT.) 1. In regards to future Pixpet merch, would you be interested in designs that feature the in-game artwork of the pets? Such as the dex sprites, overworld sprites, etc.? If yes, let us know which pet sprites you'd like to see featured in merch. If not, could you tell us what sort of designs you'd like to see on Pixpet merch -- and featuring which pixpets/pixpals?   2. How do you feel about the recent ground cover water tiles? Would you like to see more of this type of item, or is it superfluous?         We look forward to your answers! |
