Specifically because in real life, making food from scratch, the 'refining', putting everything together is the bit that takes several hours, not the actual cooking part.

I make bread and cookies sometimes. I should know.

( This is largely meant as a joke, but baking sure does take way more then the recipes you find say they will. )

Hmm...I get that with bread and cookies. But wouldn't it depend on the dish/recipe in other cases?

I'm no cook, so I can't argue, but I will say that if the refining times were made longer to reflect reality, I'd want one of the other cooking stations to have shorter times to even it out. Wouldn't want potions and evobars to take even longer to make... xP

perhaps the heat is very low, so its a nice slooooooow baking
or pixpets just like burnt granola bars

It must be cold soup, just throw everything into the blender XD

They look like... rectangular cookies.... and the longest time it's taken me specifically to bake cookies was around half an hour? Yeah, sure refining is just throwing stuff into a blender and hoping for the best, but most baking takes ten minutes to an hour
