LIEBE: Chapter One

I sat on the bus, blasting “All the Way” in my headphones. I had my Chromebook on my lap, reviewing a Melix fanfiction I was writing. The roads in my hometown were sadly too bumpy to be able to type properly, so I shut my Chromebook and slipped it back into my backpack. I then waited for the chorus to my music, raising my arms as if I was holding a guitar. Then when I heard the chorus, I started flicking my wrist as if I was strumming while moving my left hand accordingly to the imaginary frets. I mouthed the words to the song as I moved my hands, earning a few weird looks from my bus-mates, but who cares? I was having fun. I was practicing my second instrument. Finally, after a good fifteen minutes of jamming to my favorite song, the bus arrived at school. I paused my song, putting my backpack on, then walking off of the bus. I stared up at the school. My heart beat twice as fast as I rushed into the school. I looked down at my schedule. “OK, first class of the day; English.” I stuffed the paper back into my pocket and started off towards my locker. I walked through the library, weaving through the tables until I had made it to the hallway where my locker was. I walked along the wall until I found my locker, 1654. I smiled, seeing my locker, then continued down the hall. I walked into the hallway where my English class was. I walked into the room, just as the bell rang. Everyone stared at me. I fixed my black tuxedo-print shirt and looked around for an empty seat. The only one available was at a table in the far back corner, with this one girl and two guys. I removed my headphones from my ears and sat down next to the boy with the faded red hair. I set my bag down and looked at them all. “Hi, there!”
The only girl at the table looked at me. She smiled at me. “Hey. Who are you?”
I smiled. “I guess your new table-mate!” I laughed and held my hand out for her to shake. “My name’s Felix! What’s your’s?”
She took my hand and shook it. “Maddi.”
I smiled, my wild blue eyes flashing. “That’s an amazing name!” We released each other’s hands when the teacher came in. “Freshmen across the lands, hello!”
“Hi!” I said, waving. The other classmates made half-hearted. “Hey”s. The teacher then went into how the class would work. I took out my red spiral, which my mom and I had decorated with fanart of the YouTuber; Markiplier. I looked at each individual piece of work, smiling.
I was lost in my “Magical-Rainbow-YouTube-Cartoon” world when a voice spoke up from behind me. “You like Markiplier?”
I spun around to see the boy in all black, looking at me. His faded red hair was swept to the right, partially covering one of his eyes.
I smiled. “Yeah! I love Markimoo!”
The boy smiled slightly. “Yeah. Mark’s funny.”
“Damn right!” I said, maybe a little too loudly.
The boy snorted a little with giving a look from the teacher.
“You two okay over there?” The teacher asked giving them a weird face.
“Yeah, we’re fine!” I smiled. This boy seemed like a possible new friend candidate number one.
The teacher blinked. “OK, then.”
I turned my attention back to the boy. “My name’s Felix by the way.”
The boy smiled. “Augustus.”
I smiled, repeating the name in my head. Augustus. “That’s an awesome sounding name!”
Augustus smiled. “Thanks. So is ‘Felix’.”
I laughed. “It actually means ‘happy’ in Latin.”
Augustus laughed. “Well, then the name suits you.”
I smiled. “I know.”
Augustus smiled. We kept chatting for a while until the bell rang. Sadly, me and Augustus didn’t have that period in the same class, but when me and him compared schedules, we found out we’re both in the same German class, and were both in band. We even had the same lunch time. I packed my things and started towards the door. My heart was in my head as I walked to biology. I’d made a friend! Someone who was hopefully as much of a Markiplier fan as I am. Maybe Augustus would like the other YouTubers I liked as well? My mental self did a victory dance. First class down and I already have a friend!!!
