I'm in the same boat, don't really feel like buying a switch, but I probably will for Animal Crossing and Pokemon
I think I'll go with Shield and the water starter, but I'm still waiting for information on what the version differences will be.
The eight generation looks very cool so far. I loved the sixth one, but was disappointed with the seventh, so it's nice to see it improve.

Thought borderlands 3/smm2 was it gonna be this year only but hell im excited for pokemon too after seeing the video.

My partner and I were just talking about plans and we plan on getting both versions together! I have no idea what starter he’s thinking of, but I’m still really happy with Sobble. That might change if we see the final evolutions... hopefully we do!

But I am SO. STOKED. This game looks great!

I will pick sword and fire or water starter for sure . I rarely pick grass starter unless the design inspires me which is not the case for the grass monkey this time .

I am absolutely pumped for SWSH - I have been playing LG/Ultra Moon in preparation as i haven't really played Pokemon since Pokemon Y. Definitely getting both as my husband will play the second version - and Sobble is absolutely adorable!

Also Sif Doggo pokemon ftw :D

This gen seems to have gotten incredibly strong start solely from the direct alone. I don't like dynamaxing too much--it's like a double edged sword. It looks really cool with certain Pokemon and then hilariously awful with others, for example, imagine a really big stakataka or tyranitar and then imagine tynamo...it seems to be incredibly prevalent in the main story, but maybe I can get away with not using it just like I did with megas in XY.

Other than that, I'm really impressed. Corviknight is going on my team unless I can find something better by the release date. I can't wait to see the rest of the pokedex.

Seeing the Sword and Shield trailer did make me feel like buying a Switch. If I end up buying one, I'd probably pick Sword and Scorbunny as my starter! Though maybe I'll have to see the final evolutions first.

I'm most likely gonna get Scorbunny or Sobble but I'm waiting to see their final evolutions before making a choice.
I'm also stuck between Sword and Shield because I like both legendaries so i'm waiting to see what the version exclusives are before choosing.
Overall I'm really hyped! The Direct looked really promising.
