Pixpets is a great site and I love this game so far. The pets are adorable and the art style is amazing. I used to be a big Dragonadopters fan when I was younger. That being said, I want to see this game flourish.

As a new player, I’ve found that there isn’t much to do, and it feels like I have to sell most things needed for other aspects of the game like crafting just to get by. I’ve been told that my goal as of now is to just get out of my starters hut, which would be fine if there were a bit more to do in the meantime.

I remember on Neopets as a beginner things were rough, but there were still things to do like spinning wheels, reading to my pets, or letting them play with toys. There were also little freebies and quests here and there that kept me going. For Pixpets, I feel like having a few more little things to do, or having more ways to make some PC or food pellets could really do the game well. The mini game we have is a nice touch so far. Even just a little toy to play with pets without gaining anything could be really nice. These are just suggestions though, and I plan on sticking with the game either way.

For specifics, I guess my suggestions would be:

•More mini games
•Toys to play with pets
•Little daily freebies/wheels(i.e. “You look under the treasure rock and find 20 Food Pellets! Check again tomorrow!”)

Anyway, thanks for listening to my suggestion. I really do love this game so far.

As a relative newbie as well, I have to agree. Once you get into the game, there's plenty to do, from cultivating plants to refining ingredients, baking evobars, etc. And I get that waiting is a major component of the game. But there's a fairly steep learning curve and a LOT of sitting around until you can upgrade to a bigger house with room for more than 2 pixpets -- which, in a game about collecting as many pets as possible, feels like a strict barrier to entry.
I worry that some new users will grow immediately bored once they are met with their first 10h timer and abandon the site altogether without even experiencing what it really has to offer.

That said, I'm not sure what a good fix would be that won't disrupt game balance. Giving newbies a starter set of one-time-use potions is a good start... maybe lowering the hoarding time of low-level pixpets?

I was worried about that too. I feel like new players may not stick around long with the hoard times and lack of activities. I wonder if lowering hoard times for low level players/pets would be helpful. Maybe hoards could produce more common items to make up for it, then as hoards get longer bring back rarer things. What do you think?

Hey there, welcome to the game! I just want to reassure you that this is a common concern and Komodo is aware of it. ^^ He's said that he intends to address pacing issues in the future so that new players aren't getting bored, and while I don't know his plans for new activities or minigames, I will say that I'd be very surprised if the years went by and we still only had what we currently have. Well, at the moment he's working on improving the features that we have, but that won't be forever of course. However, regarding minigames specifically, it's important to note that Komodo has to hire people to make them, and that's reliant on the site's budget. Add to that the unavoidability of bugs (which Sunobra Chase still has, being only three months old), and Komodo's aim to fix most or all of them before even thinking about a new minigame, and it becomes understandable why we may be waiting a while for new minigames. In the meantime, I want to thank you for giving specific suggestions because those help us out a lot. I always like the idea of more interactivity with pets, even if it's as simple as what you've suggested. It would definitely give a little more life to our pets. Support!

Thank you for the support! I’m glad to hear that Komodo is looking into the pacing! I definitely plan to stay either way, as I do enjoy the game so far, even if I do only check in once or twice a day as of now. I can’t wait to see how things evolve though!
