As it stands, the market is solely an auction house. Users can set prices and are marginally taxed on their profits.

However, this system is severely lacking in comparison to a full-fledged competitive pet site market. Here are my suggestions regards to potential improvements. Please suggest your own or feel free to expand on my points below.

1. Item for Item and/or Currency Trades
Item Trades allow for exchange without currency and an easier route to completion of recipes and their PixDex. The addition of currency allows individuals to raise the value of their items to meet what they are offering on and allows the trade-hoster to choose the desired trade transaction, rather than by any chance variable. There would be no tax on these trades.

2. Flat Sales
Alternately to auctions, flat sales should be introduced. While competitive in a different way than auctions, flat sales allow for the establishment of firm price points for items, rather than luck and need for money. In this way, more reliable profit can be earned by focusing on needs and pricing competitively to other salespeople. There could be a small tax on these transactions, similar to auctions now.

3. Snipe Guard on Auctions
This would be the addition of one minute to any auction’s timer which was bid on under the two minute mark. This way, auctions are made so that the winners have surpassed all their competitor’s maximum willingness to pay, rather than winning by being the fastest sniper.

4. Rules Against Monopolizing Markets
These rules would essentially work against users who buy up all of the units of a given item on the market to sell them back to the userbase at a marked profit.

5. Sell Back to Site
Essentially would work to replace deletion to introduce more currency to the site from hoards.

6. User-to-User Currency Exchange
This would allow for things such as art commissions to be introduced to the forums and would allow for additional cash flow across the site. Individuals who can offer their services for money can be paid in in-game currency, if they so choose. Sharing money would also help alleviate frustrations of being extremely close to a particular goal, given that they don’t beg for PixCoins. These transactions would not be taxed.

Even if no other suggestion is incorporated, please, please implement a snipe guard.

Without one, it hurts the seller for buyers to just wait for the last few seconds to outbid someone, instead of an actual bidding war up to someone's limit.

I understand it's nice getting an item for cheap because you snagged the top bid at the last second, but I'd rather pay a little more for the auction system to be more fair and less frustrating.

It would definitely help the economy I would think, establishing values for items based on demand. The more people badly want an item, the higher it will sell for, leaving the lesser in-demand items to have lower costs due to people saving up for the big ones instead of snagging things left and right.

Idk, I feel like auctions can be frustrating but it's totally possible to make them feel more fair and less random.

I'd like a trading forum as well, it would help people who use their personal usershops as well. Because at the moment, I just don't see a reason to use it - the only way something could sell in the usershop was if someone happened upon it, far as I could see.

Also, I wholly agree with the 'sell back to site' idea. I would absolutely love it if I could make some use out of my very dull seeds - I can't combine them because they're all different kinds. I'd rather just sell them for even a couple PC, but I don't want to go through with auctioning them off as I'm not even sure if they'd sell.
