Hey everyone, we have a bit of a smaller update today in terms of new content, but we also have some exciting news -- and a couple poll questions that you can answer to receive PPT!

(Also, you may have noticed that Halloween is still up even though it was scheduled to end today. This is due to a discussion we had on the Pixpet Discord server about the possibility of extending it a bit longer so players can find some items they missed. I've asked the big boss if we can extend it a week, so we'll see what she says. Edit: Halloween has been extended to November 17th!😄)

1. I like the idea of using the dex and overworld sprites, though I do think there still needs to be some stylized artwork. Maybe the sprites can be used on smaller things like buttons and keychains or stickers

2. I like the idea of the titles though I haven't had a chance to try them yet as I don't have enough of them

1.) Don't know what to say about this since all other players around here already pointed out my ideas is some way... But yes. I love almost all pixpet and pixpal, and i would love to see one specific piece of merch that focuses on that specific pixpet/pixpal. All of them needs love and hugs! I know that's something very ambitious for the beginning, but with time... how knows?


2.) Yes! I want to see more of it! I really like then. It gives players the opportunity to create they own lakes and pools and custom more their own gardens.
But i also wish to see some predefined and complete models using those tiles.
I dont know how to properly explain it since my english is not very good, but having complete lakes/pools covering all ground (just like most ground skins) or covering just some small path of the ground (similar to picnic blankets, but different sizes and shapes) can be pretty usefull for players that don't know what to build with the tiles, because are suffering from creativity block or something.
Also, doing specific tiles with leaves, flowers, rocks, pebbles, mushroom... can be fun

I think I understand what you mean, like prefabricated ground covers that use the tile art? That's certainly possible and I'll see what HappyElanda thinks of this idea. I personally like it. And more debris tiles are certainly doable. Right now I think we have the Autumn Debris (leaves and twigs), the Mushroom Patches, and a Snow Pile, but we don't have any non-seasonal debris tiles, so maybe that can be remedied! Thank you for the good suggestions. 😄

1. Gonna agree with the house sprites for small stuff, dex image for bigger.

2. I love the new terrain tiles, but I haven't gotten enough of them to mess around with yet. Definitely a longer-term project but they do open up a lot of possibilities. Could do with some more path options; we have the Grassy Garden Path and the concrete slabs but not much else. Maybe some dirt paths or flat garden stones?

Pre-word: I didn’t read most of the other’s reply, being focused on my own, so if anything was supposed already - I’m sorry.
1. I was digging the market for various merch and should say if anyone would try to sell something game-based, it should be pretty authentic, “speaking” and recognizable.
First of all, it’s kinda a major miss for market that the game doesn’t have an official emblem/mascot or anything we would call “iconic”. That’s always was a selling point for merch: dragon insignia from The Elder Scrolls, Inquisitorial Seal of WH40k, Murloc of WoW, Chaos Orb from Path of Exile, and so on. Would be good to work something out.
While most of pixpets are beautifully done, they’re looking too generic to stand out: say, Drax looks like a small dragon, and anyone who doesn’t play Pixpets will never have a doubt in that. I’d focus on the pixpets/pixpals that are unique even at first glance, like Yryuilia, Loppani, Oecko, Kinflame and some others, they should provoke a curious question like “oh, nice print, who’s that?”. Same with pixpals, merch should be focused on unique, recognizable and loved ones.
Maybe there should be a different page in user’s profile that would ask the user for his favorite pets n pals, or even simpler option, like putting a star on their loved pet, and a weekly reminder to do so if they didn’t already. Opinions matter. Going blind with merch could be disastrous.
Pixpets n pixpals are what we’re here for. Deco stuff comes after them, so should be the merch around it. Little shiny metal pixpet medals could be a pretty all-around pendant (on keychain, neck, as pin, etc.).
And you could always resort to preorders. “If we’ll have XX units of YY merch ordered for ZZ bucks, we’ll put it in production a month later and will send merch away as it will be available, first 10 orders being signed by our team” etc. The scheme works already for many games.
Btw, focusing on PayPal might be nice n all but there’s a lot of countries that PayPal ignores, it’d be better to have more payment options.
2. Water tiles is good, but they’d better not have “ground” part at all, behaving like a carpet tile with transparent ground. In its current state if one’s going for deep ocean tile, they’re bound to that purple ground; same with the sand of “beach” tiles. Water tiles treated as carpet and with transparent ground would allow us to put, say, a pond on meadow in the backyard.
EDIT(S): And if we're getting more items and tiles, they'd dilute our current items pool. Please consider increasing capsule drop rates in near future and/or correcting drop rates of everything (think if I'll get an another pot in my loot I'd be excited just to smash it to pieces).
And additional pumpkins should stay forever, plus their growth time... all right, it's gonna be in some other post.

1. BK is more involved in the merch part than I am and will probably get back to you when she gets up. I can however say that as written in the post above, we’ll be using a third party called redbubble for merchandise so we won’t store any of it on our own. It wouldn’t be feasible in any way as 2 of us live in Europe, different countries, 1 in USA and 1 in Asia. The others I don’t know where they live but we’re spread out in various different places.
I don’t know if redbubble only accept PayPal or if they allow other different types of payment but considering they ship to most parts of the world I think they do.

2.At the moment the tiles are made to be part of a set. There’s plans for future sets that would fit with grass skin, snow skin etc. but I wanted feedback before actually making them as they’re very time consuming to make. As we’re using gif as file format I’m unable to make any sort of natural “progress” so that the water tile would look natural on top of a skin. It basically looks like it’s floating or hovering above the “floor”.
Making the tiles as I have I’ve also gone around the rules that items should be outlined which would give the water a rug type of feeling instead.
I’ve included a few screenshots that hopefully convey what I wanted to say.

I would love to see all pixpet//pixpal at merch but. This is something very interesting to point out.
For me, Xeldron, Drax and Noo-Long are the mascots of the site due to the site layout, but i know they belong here. General public maybe don't recognize them but at the same time i believe this is something that will change with time naturally, with the increase of the players base.
Neopets also have a lot of animal generic designs and lot of people recognize them as Neopets anyway.
They're often use the site logo on their merch alongside the neopets designs, and i think the Pixpet logo can be iconic enough to do the trick.
