Back in the old DragonAdopters, the dragons could be different elements, and had different color sprites to match. An air dragon might be white, the fire one red, ect.
So when Pixpet first started up, I was expecting the sprites to match the colors the pet had. I was just a little disappointed to find that not the case though. So these sprites are like if they did that. (though I understand it would add a lot of work to make more than double the sprites...)
So...maybe the glitched pets will be a way to do something like that.
