@Wanderer is right, the logjams would probably be impossible to solve without annotation I tried and failed doing it on an example they posted on the discord last night... Still worth the hour of lost sleep xD, but I've found most (number) Sudokus to be nicely solvable. I am generally able to solve them in under ten minutes.

And I wouldn't chalk it up to experience; I used to do some Sudokus about ten years ago, but was never extraordinary at it or anything.

My strategy: I tend to check for numbers first -- so try to see if I can easily place 1; if I've exhausted that, check for 2s, etc., and then I try to go column-/row-/box-wise (depending on which have only one or two numbers missing), which has so far (excepting logjams, which I have not encountered/recognized yet) seemed like a pretty decent strategy.
