I think it'd be interesting to allow people to set an auto-buy price (aka buyout price) for auctions. Currently, with the snipe guard and long duration on auctions, it can be frustrating to wait and get outbid, only to be stuck in a bid war in the last ten minutes.

By adding an autobuy price that can be set by the owner of the auction, people can have the option of just straight buying an item, but usually at much higher than if they had waited (being the compromise of avoiding the previously mentioned stuff).

Full support. I don't like the current auction system so this would be nice. It would be nice if the host of the auction could set the settings themselves so if you wanted some auction rules to apply and some not (like adding the autobuy or duration extender).

I agree, but only if the auto-buy was optional for the auction runner to use. I heavily dislike the current auction system- as the bid wars and sniping can be a pain if you’re not planning ahead to make sure you’re around during the end of an auction - but the auctions do serve a purpose as they are. Some auctions also only get as high as they do in bids because of the snipe function, so it does help the economy on site a little as it is now.

I don't see how autobuys would help you if your problem is people putting alot of money into one item in the effortto try and get it



Even if it was optional I can see why it would be disadvantaged to the auctioneer to set an auto buy on some auctions when they know their item's demand and value, and as for missing an outbid and sniping, if it's that important it will always pop up again.

If people were looking for autobuys options, once again there are usershops that do just that, while an argument might be made that those are limited, they are limited because of how they can be exploited, and I can see how autobuys can be exploited, let's say for example, if someone had two accounts that weren't completely made aware of by staff, one could put an auction load of pumpkins like 50 of them but have it set to a modest autobuy and put it on the market for like 8 days so it's far away from the active pages and then the main account could buy those away without a challenge and without a limit like in usershops. that's just one thing I can think of.

I agree completely with @Klaora when it comes to usershops. I’m currently going through “____’s pixpet interactions” to search for usershops with what I want.

I've never liked auctions and think it's really a shame that this is the main way to get items from other players like seriously no offense to those that do like auctions, I'm just really not a fan. An autobuy or a usershop search would be so handy ;v;
