It’s been a long time since I have uploaded any artwork or posted my own work on a forum. When I went to the site I use to use to get img codes for my uploaded pictures, I have noticed a lot of changes and it no longer is usable for my needs.

This got me wandering, what sites are people using these days?

What made you choose the site? Does the site provide the img code for example?

Please share your favourite sites here.

I post my art multiple places including tumblr and twitter, both of which you can easily get the codes to paste the image from, but to be honest I use deviantart the most. It's nice in that it's an art specific community, so if you're looking to get some exposure and possibly a following you likely will.
But even for non-art things or things I don't necessarily want to show all my watchers but I do need a link to, their sta.sh feature is pretty convenient.

I always use Imgur for everything because it never deletes your images, unless you delete them yourself (that is, if you have an account, guest-uploaded images stay there forever i think?)

I created a bunch of folders on my account to keep my images organized, and uploading there is as easy as copy-pasting a cropped image from an art program right into an album without even having to click the upload button.

You can set your alcums to public, private, or hidden, that way you can share certain albums with your friends only.

I highly suggest

Hmm... The sites I tend to use for my art are as follows:

Twitter, Furaffinity, ( I do not recommend this one. ) Gitlab, Imgur, Discord ( Not really a site but I upload a lot of art there and link to it. )

Imgur or Twitter would probably be your best bet, though Twitter seems to be removing transparent PNGs from their site, so keep that in mind.

If you have discord you can also simply send it to someone, open original and copy the image url from there. Personally I have a little server for me and my friends with one channel to which only I have access for taking notes as well as sending images like this.

i use furaffinity the most.
...would tenuously reccomend.

tumblr became a bit of a nightmare to use 7_7; and furaffinity and deviantart are the only places i get a steady amount of attention nowadays, but deviantart is also a pain to use, so... shrug!
but simply for image sharing, imgur is still a great option.

Personally, I love using Imgur because the links are always short ^^
Also the UI is simple and one of the best to navigate imo.

I used to use imgur extensively, but I've been using imgbox as a replacement, since the imgur terms of use forbids its users from hotlinking its hosted images to many websites and I just don't want to run the risk. More recently I've been posting images to a private discord channel and just grabbing the image link from there!

I tend to use tinypic, i used to use imgur but then whoever makes the decisions on there made it as difficult as humanly possible to actually get direct links (and getting them usually means imgur changes the image to lose any transparency if it has it, and drops the quality of the image beyond belief)
Downside of tinypic is the constant captchas and that you can't really store the images on there, but it does mean you don't need to make an account to use it, and it gives you direct links, img code, html and url

I generally use Tinypic. Doesn't delete pictures you've saved from ages back, and is easy to get the type of link you need. Only downside is that there are popups sometimes. But I haven't found any alternative that actually works well compared to it.

I often see deleted Tinypic images on older threads whenever checking forum archives lol, I still say Imgur is better in those terms.

Yeah, dreaded TinyPic when you look at old stuff. Always seems to be deleted after awhile.

Imgur is good for any type of image.

Twitter, Furaffinity, Deviantart, and maybe Tumblr are good for organizing your art. Furaffinity and Deviantart have folders to help organize your stuff. Twitter has moments to compile your art. Tumblr’s tagging system is a bit wonky, but it may work for you.

I usually use Imgur for this sort of thing. As for like, social media for art... I'm not super active on social media anymore, so I'm not super helpful giving suggestions there.

I have my own personal website that I upload and host images from for maximum image control, but if I'm really lazy I use a screenshot app (Greenshot) that lets me upload to Imgur directly. Pretty helpful.

Personally, I don't recommend Twitter and Discord as they compress images pretty awefully. Twitter turns things into a compressed jpg, and by Feb I believe, you won't be able to use the 1 transparent pixel to force your image to upload in good quality png. Discord sometimes distorts colors post compression, often on CMYK images, which I almost always use since I work on publishing prints. Generally, people work with RGB and converting takes a few secs, but imo the color distortion kinda speaks about Discord's upload engine.

I haven't had much issues with Imgur, and image compression isn't too bad if I notice it. Mostly, it's convenient since it's partnered with a number of screenshot apps.

I agree with a few others here that Imgur is pretty good for general use these days, it's simple and quick to upload stuff and get whatever links you need, the mobile site is just as good, and while it isn't required you can make an account if you want more control over your uploads, like if you want to delete them later

Years ago I'd always use tinypic and I think photobucket was pretty popular back then too, but tinypic looks like it has barely been updated in 8 years and is still really pushy with ads, while photobucket seem to have changed to be more strictly photo based and have some sort of subscription service.

But for lots of artwork, something like Deviantart is probably the way to go. I could be wrong (been a while) but I don't think it provides direct links itself like general img hosting sites, but most browsers let you grab them easily with a right click option

I don't do a ton of social media with my art, but lately I've been using Imgur. It's pretty convenient and easy-to-use. It's also quick to link items elsewhere, which is useful if I want to share or post my art anywhere else.
