I think this has been mentioned before, but as we have some decorative food items here, I think we could give the plant products more uses than just making potions. There could be more basic ingredients and maybe even some natural products (like wood or stone) to craft decorative that are wooden or stone.

Some items could craft-only, so they can't be found on hoards. The station to craft the items will most likely be the existing Refining Station.

Eg. The blueberry cupcake can be crafted from blueberries and flour and eggs and salt and sugar and whatever.

Some new basic ingredients could be:
-Baking Soda
-Flour
-Eggs
-Sugar
-Milk
-Butter
