Hi ummm.. This might get deleted cus I dont think its THAT important but I am curious. Is it normal that a big ad appears on the lower part of my computer screen whenever I go on any Pixpet link? Im asking since its kinda annoying and appeared just yesterday (at least for me) and I was wondering if this happens to anyone else and if the mods actually know about this ^^'

If its the admins who did that then dont worry, I'll just get over the ad (if i can ^^' I'll try my best).

Bleh, sorry that you're getting a bothersome ad. I just turned on ads to check; looks like this appears on mobile too. I don't remember it being there, but it's fairly small on my screen, and as King said, it seems to be closeable.

I'm curious how much of the site it's obscuring for you, though. Do you think you can get a screenshot for us? If it's covering a lot, maybe Komodo can look into it.

And you can always use an adblocker too of course, to fix it immediately xP

The problem is that it goes back up everytime you change links on Pixpet. Everytime! And thats annoying. Its blocking quite a big part of my screen as I have quite of a small computer. It blocks around 1/3 of the screen which is insane lol. And its still happening for me ^^'

You're smart to be worried about downloading a plugin that a stranger recommended to you. I don't have anything to gain by lying to you, though -- in fact, I'd get in huge trouble if I knowingly led someone to download a virus, since I'm a staff member here. I've been using uBlock Origin for about two years now and as far as I'm aware, it's a trustworthy plugin. However, I'd completely understand if you wanted to do your own research, because that's the smart thing to do.


The easiest way would be to upload the screenshot to imgur and paste the link here. You can still upload there even if you have no account; there should be a green button on the left (on desktop) that says "+ New Post" which is what you want. After it uploads, hover over the image and click "copy link," then paste it in your post here.

I have ads on all the time and while I did not see that pop-up for some reason, uh pixpet ads are afaik only supposed to appear in the dedicated spaces at the top and on the right side.

Anything that goes outside those areas should just be reported... however I'm either blind or we don't actually have an ad report thread?

I feel like it'd be a good idea to have a thread where bad ads can be reported, whether they're intrusive, or just inappropriate. I haven't seen any bad ones myself but I'm sure they pop up sometimes, google advertisements just be like that

I have looked to post it, but the button is not showing up for me. However, the post above me does show the exact frame of the add. And today it has been popping back up with several refreshes or page changes in a row.

It seems to be happening more often now, yesterday it only appears around 4-5 times per click on pixpet, now I see it like every 2 clicks on pixpet.

Now I see it more often too. Appears indiscriminately at the arcade, userpages, forum, etc.
