Plus I bet it's going to feel nice to have more room to decorate sooner  |

Pumpkin slots are normally a big factor for me, and while the Italian Villa has one less pumpkin slot than the Riverside Mansion, it's still enough to feed 17 pets (assuming you always replant as soon as you harvest!) and as Overcast said, you'll be making significantly more PC from hoards if you take advantage of every pet slot.
