hi!!! my name is venezie and as the title says i am new to the game. i first discovered it way back when it was still being funded and i followed it's progress until release but i can't say i did much after. however, now, several years later, i rediscovered the game and i decided to finally make an account and join in.

i really love the art style of the game and petsites in general so i'm excited to see what it has to offer. does anyone have tips for new players? what are some things i should do first and what are some onsite tasks i should complete every day?

Hey there @hfjone, welcome to the site!

Here are some things you can do right away as a new player:

  • Interact with other profiles to get plant seeds/pixcoins. This can be done by going to any player's profile and clicking the "Play Lottery" button (if available) and then clicking "Give to <user>'s pets!" This will help you start building your seed collection, so you'll be able to produce the various fruits required for evobars. Profile interactions can be done 10 times a day.


  • If you're having trouble finding pumpkin seeds specifically (which are important for food), you're guaranteed to get some from interacting with players' pixpet eggs in particular. This will show up as a "Help me Hatch!" button next to a pixpet egg, when available. Here's an example: pixpet.net/u/Cue Keep in mind that this will count towards your 10 daily interactions. I should also mention that pixpet eggs aren't to be confused with pixinytes, which also have the "help me hatch" button. Pixinytes are much smaller than pixpet eggs and you can generally ignore those on profiles, unless you want more pixcoins.


  • Once you've amassed some seeds, chances are they're all random grades. If you have two or more seeds of the same kind, you can combine them to improve their grades, by going to the Game tab > Cultivation > Combine Seeds, and selecting seeds to combine. This will also clear up inventory space.


  • I see that you've already planted your first pumpkin seed, which is perfect! As mentioned, pumpkins are an important food source (well, the only one) so it's a good habit to replant right after harvesting, to keep the food train moving.


  • Someday I'll stop talking about seeds...but until then, I recommend planting one of your other (non-pumpkin) seeds. The most useful plant seed for a new player is probably the Evolution Fruit Seed, but if you don't have that yet, then you can plant whatever you have. Technically all plants are useful!


  • For easy pixcoins, I recommend playing Baluna's Biscuits (a match-3 game) at the arcade. If it's not your cup of tea, other minigames that award pixcoins are Roodoku, Shiko and the Jade Bead, and Duel in the Desert (other games award food pellets only). You can receive rewards from the arcade 5 times a day by submitting your score.


  • Other activities I can recommend will depend on your preferred play style. If you want something engaging, Adventure Mode (a text-based RPG on the home page) has many hours of content and places to explore. It can also be a good source of pixcoins if you export Vivid eggs for sellback/auctions. If you enjoy idle games, then the site's hoarding mechanic might be more to your liking.
