Like the titles says, do you find Pixpet engaging, and for how long do you see yourself being on site?

For me, my main problem is what exactly can I do on site to keep me interested? The forums, I guess? It just seems like I'm only really every gonna come on site to send my pets on hoards, water my plants, glance over the forums, interact with some pets, and then leave until the following day, all of which probably won't take me more than 10-15 minutes. As a result, I don't really see myself coming back to this site very often once the initial intrigue has worn off, given that the current features available aren't much more than dailies.

for me, i think ill be here until the end honestly. o.o but i have a lot of nostalgia for the art style and simple gameplay, from being on dragonadopters (komodo's previous petsite) which had similar idle-style gameplay but a great community, so i'd come on everyday to talk to everyone and stare at my pretty pets. :3 also, as more pets and decorations are added, im sure ill have a lot of fun making my house a lovely place.

so as for how engaging pixpet is, its not, that much! for me personally thats not a detriment, but i completely understand how others would find it just a 15-minute pop-in every morning.

The draw for me is the community, mostly. I know I'll find people who can relate to each other's interests, so as long as the player base remains strong I'll be here. Also just the thought of raising a bunch of creatures is intriguing. It stimulates ideas for me, makes me examine things from different creative vantages.

As far as the game itself is concerned, it's got a decent amount of content, and I'm sure more will be added as time passes. It's a slow game, but informative as to when, where, and how things need to be accomplished, which again is aided by the community. Plus I can play it anywhere since it's browser-based. Pixpet (and Dragon Adopters before it) invoke the same sensations for me as a good text-based game would back in the day.

It's not super engaging, but it doesn't have to be. I pop in, check on things, and then go do something else for a while, it's nice for people who tend to be busy with school or work. I'll probably stick around the site for a while, and if not, I'll likely come back every now and then regardless

Pitching in on the community one. I love simple low-maintenance clicking games with nice lil' forums mainly because of the forum.
Playing other things like Flight Rising, I spend far less time on the forums since I have a higher focus on the game itself. To the point of sometimes forgetting the forum is even a thing I can kill some time on. Here though I come to click the few buttons for the game part, and then spend the rest of my time browsing the forum.
"How is that relevant to the game?"
Whenever I get bored of FR, I simply don't go there. It's a solo game I can put off and deal with it half a year from now. Maybe two years. Or five. And then boom it's gone.
A game that goes hand in hand with a forum has more of a draw to come back and check how's the forum doing. And then, obviously, you also play the game itself.

To me it hardly feels like "extremely engaging petsite" was the main reason for this games existence. Feels more like Animal Crossing in that sense - socialize a little, do your daily tasks and then come back another day. Not the best comparison but it's the first chill thing I could think of. So I can certainly see myself coming back for a long time. The biggest appeal IS the low-maintenance imo.
But then again I'm also a busy adult so I can imagine younger people with more free time will feel otherwise. Or people who aren't keen on socializing.

I’m gonna copy what everyone else said and talk about the community. Everyone here is really nice, and now that the forums are more active, I have more incentive to come in and chat. Even though the community isn’t relevant to gameplay, I still think that it makes the game better. That’s just my opinion though.

I’m glad that this game is low-maintenance. It may not be super engaging, but I’m not looking for an engaging game right now. So this game might not be for people who want something they’d pour hours into.

To add to previous posts: I don't feel that I can properly review the game at this stage. 1.0 was released a week ago. But I can tell you that I like where it's going, and I come back everyday because I know that the game is being updated frequently. It's also the reason that I'm a patron. Just today we got a new pet, and usually we're getting new features. Maybe it's not your cup of tea right now, but check back in a month or two and you might be pleasantly surprised. :3

It's not very engaging, but I can still see myself popping in every so often. Whether or not I'd stay long term really depends on how I connect with the community and where development for Pixpets goes.

I'm not on the forums a lot, but I enjoy being here, and the Discord is great.

However I'm also gonna add that I'm really getting into the market stuff--it's fun watching people get into bid wars on your auctions, trying to figure out the best ways to earn more money, which items you should sell, how to maximize your profit to buy the next house, how I'm gonna take care of my next pet once I finally grab an egg, watching the market to see if there's an item I might really need, etc. It's fun!

Although the community is fine and I'm way more active on these forums than any other site I've been on, the main draw for me, and basically the point of why we're all here is the game. And so far? I haven't found it that engaging. And although people have been talking about how the community is a perfectly fine reason to come back, I really haven't found a lot of posts to interact with as of yet atleast. I'm probably only staying on here a lot more because I have friends also playing at the same rate as me, but if it wasn't for that I would have probably lost interest pretty quick.

Currently, I'm finding that there really isn't a lot to do in the game. One game that I've gotten into playing really every day is ClickCritters which has daily games, puzzles, HUNDREDS of pets to collect, and all sorts of stuff to do that makes this game look like a barren wasteland. Of course, this is a very very new game and CC is almost like 10 years old. And when comparing how this is starting out to CC? It is a bit more optimistic.

Right now the only interest for me is finding pixpets and buying a bigger house, but everything is so slow, it reminds me of those boring Facebook games that get old pretty quick. Even the items and the market that some people are saying is interesting to them is pretty boring to me.

One thing that CC has is some really interesting interactive games, somewhat like Neopets. And they don't even have animations. But I feel like a more open world to explore, maybe the option to actually PLAY as your pets would really be fantastic. When I saw the home page art I thought it would be something like that, a pixelated multiplayer game where everyone has a house or something. Something like a mix of AnimalJam and Flight Rising, someone also in this thread mentioned Animal Crossing which would be cool. Either way, I was pretty disappointed with how limited the game is right now.

I know I'm being pretty harsh, and I think this is one person working on the game? but I see a lot of potential with the game, and I guess that's another reason why I keep coming back as a lot of others have said, I'd like to see it develop into something better.

It's still certainly in it's early stages and for the most part once I have done a lot of my stuff for the day I tend to go off until I know I can come back and repeat the 'dailies' but I do love coming here and chatting about things and just enjoying what there is as well as watching as this lovely game develops. It certainly seems like almost every day or every few days there is an update about what has been added and new features.

I think the one downside for me is simply that when you have pets at decent levels (like the high 30s) it tends to take a bit for them to not only get back from a hoard but forever to rest XD SO I can pretty much expect one hoard a day (give or take depending when I am actually up to check) from a high level pet at the time. But again, the game itself is in it's early stages so I'm certain that things will be improved and tweaked as more people not only come over but as it develops

@mdragonflame i dont think youre being overly harsh at all. while this is a new game, it could still benefit from some more interactivity. and i admit a game where you are a species of animal with a decorating house would be HEAVEN for me, lol, though thats not where pixpet is headed :'p

i really hope we at least get simple games some way down the line, i feel like that just in itself would keep people interested. ^_^

id also like to see events come into play sometime! for example, a generic solstice event for summer and winter would be very fun, with limited decorations and pets and all that lovely stuff. :3

@bunny - Oh man if they added things in like little Holiday Events and mini-games that can help with the process of earning PC that would be AMAZING. I'm a sucker for little mini-games like forms of Tetris or just block swapping games like Bejeweled. Nothing too hard and pretty simple to get behind. Holiday Events for things like the New Years, etc. would also be super amazing as well! So hopefully we'll see something like that in the future.

As stated, for the most part I tend to come on here to do what dailies I can do (I'm looking at your insane cooldown time Thobaan BC) and then likely popping off to wait about until either my pet has returned from a hoard or they are rested and can be sent out again. It's certainly a lot of fun but the slog of actually earning PC as well as just the more time tacked onto hoards as your pet levels up can be a bit of a drag once you finished with most of your interactions and the like.

honestly the only thing i do is pop in and water my plants
i can see the potential for this site, and i know it's early, but between growing plants and hoarding and everything it just takes so long, i cant say its really engaging at all atm

Basically, what everyone else has been saying, my friends play it a lot and I'd like to be able to play something with them so why not. It's enjoyable so why not, I'll be here for a long while I'd say.

Very engaging. I'd play it as much as time allowed me with the delays on hoards and planting and stuff if I could. ^^

Not really engaging to me but I sure see myself coming back to collect, water and hoard. The cooldown and waiting time on hoarding and your pets bring absolutetly nothing is a big downer though, and wouldnt be surprised it even discourage a majority from playing eventually.
The community is nice but dont have much time to get into that, game content is ways more important.
Im sure there is gonna be more and more to do as it develops. been playing more pet sites from the start and non had many things to do.

The delight of this site is that it's not a site that requires you to play for hours to get anywhere. I'm on PokeFarm Q and to even begin there you have to play for hours to make any form of progress. I love this site for allowing brief checks throughout the day.

I believe that as the site grows in users, more stuff will come and be added. And more will come to the forums. I feel that this site will eventually become more forum and community based than gameplay based and to me, that is perfectly fine.

All we have to do is be patient and help the site grow. After all, feedback is the best way to help the site improve! If the users stay quiet then the mods can't know what needs improving or changing or adding!

It's a confusing mix of hands-on and hands-off that ends up being a bit stressful, but maybe I'm still getting the hang of things. On one hand, I send my pets on hoards, water my plants, and wait... on the other hand, if I don't check my plants enough, they wither; I sleep a full night and get scared when I log on because they're almost going to lose a grade. So it's both not enough to keep me constantly on and around doing stuff, but not little enough that I can feel comfortable staying offline for a while, so I end up aimlessly logging on once in a while and checking up on things, but not having enough to do while I'm actually on, now anxious about forgetting about my plants but not sure what to do after I've checked on them.
