The averager does what its name implies, as far as I am aware, and averages different items together rather than combining them. If you used a g14 and g56 liquid pearl, did you get back two grade 35 liquid pearls? (14+56 = 70, 70/2 items = 35).

The smaller grade items will get a higher grade, but the grade of the higher items will be lowered, if I understand it correctly.

I’m not sure if this will help, but I’ll try to explain. By using the averager, you are combining multiple items of the same type but of different grades to get one single grade that these items all now share. The order in which you select items does not have any effect on the final results.

Average is calculated by the sum of the grades of items added (adding all the grades together), divided by the number of items added.

If you use a low grade (say 10) and a high grade (say 80), both will have a middle grade once done. In this case, it would be 45. No matter the grades of items you put in, the results will always be lower than the highest grade you put in.
