From what I remember, there are two main reasons that this hasn't been implemented (yet):

• Komodo is focusing all of his time on Pixpet Adventure until it's reached a stage that's solid enough for release (and I imagine Patreon supporters will have it first for a while before it's released to the public)



• There are so few pets to collect (currently 64) that being able to trade/sell eggs privately would make filling the pixdex too easy, which is a major part of the game

Arguably, the second reason may be partially solved by Pixpet Adventure because the release of Vivid variant pixpets means that there will be literally double the amount of pets to collect, and it'll take us a while to find all of them. On the other hand, 128 pets still isn't very many in my eyes, at least when compared to other petsites that focus mainly on collecting.

I used to say that being able to trade/sell eggs privately would also provide multi-accounters with an easy profiteering method, but I've realized this is not true. Multi-accounters already have a profiteering method with the egg sellback feature, since they can just sellback all eggs on their alts, and then send the PC to their main account. They wouldn't necessarily need to trade eggs with their alts to make a profit.

Having said all that, I personally support private egg trading/selling as long as it has restrictions that are designed to keep the collecting aspect of the game at a normal pace. For example:

• Each player is allowed one egg trade/sale per day. This is to prevent new players from receiving a bunch of eggs rapidly. (I used to say "one trade per week," but now I think that would be too restrictive.)



• The feature would be locked until the account achieves a 15-day login streak for the first time. Same reason as the previous restriction.



• Legendaries can't be traded, so that they still feel legendary. Or,  legendaries can only be traded for legendaries, but not sold privately.
