I know that people can forget sometimes, and I guess watering your plants/pumpkins isn't excluded in the list of things we can forget, and the quality of the products goes down, so I propose the new items called plant watering bots. These watering bots can be toggled to start watering for you or stop watering. The first one I have is at pixpet.net/u/metal_man&section=userpage_gallery&i=701&title=Pixpet-Gallery---Mobile-Plant-Watering-Bot which goes around the room it's placed in and uses the built-in spray to water your plants whenever they reach the dry state. The second one I have at pixpet.net/u/metal_man&section=userpage_gallery&i=702&title=Pixpet-Gallery---Stationary-Plant-Watering-Bot can water your plants, but it does not move at all and can only water adjacent plants, but it is more common, but still kinda rare.
