Hello again! I'm back with another suggestion.
This time, I wanted to discuss bidding on auctions.

To sum it up, there has been countless times where I've misclicked and accidentally bid on an auction when I meant to just click "Observe" - I primarily use Mobile so the format is a little different. I check Pixpet as soon as I wake up in the mornings, so most of these misclicks happen while I'm still very tired. Regardless, I hate being stuck with the bid until I ultimately win or someone else bids.

I'd like for there to be an option where we can take back our bids within a certain amount of time.
Here are some things I thought about if this feature is implemented;

- Send a message to the previous bidder that "[X] withdrew their bid"
- Withdrawing bids will also trigger snipe guards
- You can only withdraw the bid as long as no one else has bid ahead of you
- Limit the use of withdrawing to only 1 use a day (as an example)

But that is all I can think of for now. I'll add more ideas when I think about them.

@Klaora made the wonderful suggestion to instead create a confirmation window before finally placing a bid. This would be the easiest and most efficient option!

I personally would not agree with this, mainly because if someone who had previous bidded could potentially have moved on and sunk their PC into another auction. The seller could loose a sale, there is too much potential for misuse of this.

Seconding with Wayvern, the reason why is it gets abused really easily and you could always return the item to the players that won the auction. For example, if there is an albino xeldron on sale for 9 days you can technically reserve it by bidding around 5000 PC and then withdraw it and bid on a time no one is playing. If we were to make withdrawing reset the day, this would be very bad on the player's part as they would have to wait a lot more than they have to.

Edit: Just saw Klaora's post below me, and that would pretty much fix the whole issue lmao. If anything's added for this, that would be the easiest fix, really.

I don't have an opinion either way, but perhaps possible abuse could be avoided by using a limited period of being able to reverse the bid? For example, the limit would be 2-5 minutes after you bid, and once that timer's up, you have to keep that bid in place. That way if someone bid by mistake, they could fix it as soon as they do it. And there could be a limit put in place to how many times you could take back a bid, as the original poster said - maybe 1 time daily, or once per auction. Just something to stop someone from doing it on purpose.

And if the bid was removed, it wouldn't change anything for the previous bidder - it could add their PC back onto the auction, possibly with a message to let them know what happened. The short limit to reverse a bid could help with the whole 'previous bidder moving on to another auction' thing as well, since it would be such a short time frame. And it could remove a snipe guard activation if necessary, as the mistaken bid wouldn't count once removed.

I don't know, just was bored wanted to add my two cents here.

Agreeing with the others. Rather than being able to withdraw bids, would a "confirm bid" pop-up/check box/etc. possibly fix this issue instead?

I didn't think about that until now - Klaora's suggestion would be the best option. I second a confirmation window for bidding!
