Pixpet battles either between your own pets or yours vs others.
The simplest way I imagine a feature like this implemented, is in a similar way to the current userpage interactions: A luck based “fight” with one click, maybe somewhat depending on the pixpet’s level and evolution. You go on a user’s page, pick which one of your pixpets fights one of the user’s pets, and both the winner and loser gain HEXP from it, if not other rewards, like maybe SLVL?
- Both pixpets need to be neither hoarding nor resting.
- There could be a daily limit like with the pixpet interactions.
- It could be an alternative way to level up your pixpets or gain other rewards, with both the winner and loser of the fight gaining from it, so that if you get notified that a user has battled your pixpet and you lost, it’s still good news.
This is simply one way a feature like this could be implemented.

One good reason to add “battling” to the site is that it adds another way of interacting with your pets, since the game is currently entirely focused on your pets’ absence.

One good argument I can of think of against this feature is that it may be too violent to fit the mood of the game, however this entirely depends on how it’s implemented! Nobody considers pokemon games violent, if I’m correct? So pixpet fights could have a similar, friendly mood to it, perhaps with a different name like “sparring”, “strife”, etc...

I suggested pixpets with chess, checkers, or five men's morris mechanics. If I could stretch this idea each species could only play a specific variety of chess positions although that's not necessary

There's no PVP in Adventure, but you can duel against AIs
