It's interesting that you say that, because the reason the egg sellback feature was implemented was because of an overabundance of common eggs that nobody was buying. Granted, we had fewer players at the time, and those of us who asked for the feature were all roughly at the same stage in the game, so we were all trying to sell eggs to players like us who didn't need them.

If I auction any eggs, for the most part it's legendary or super rare because everything else seems to be hit or miss. Admittedly I don't notice it as much because I'm an endgame player in a comfortable spot financially, so if my auctions don't do well, I don't bat an eyelash.

I know you're just ranting and not necessarily making any suggestions, but for the sake of conversation, there are a few solutions I can think of for this.

1. All current eggs have their rarity increased significantly. Pro(s): all eggs go up in value in a short time. Con(s): the game becomes less fun because eggs are harder to find, especially for new players who can't make potions yet. Also harder for new players to afford eggs.

2. The Pixdex expands to the point where all eggs become naturally rarer anyway because the probability of finding a specific egg decreases with each new species released. Komodo is already steadily working on this in between everything else. After all, it's a petsite! Pro(s): all eggs go up in value over time as new pets are released, without making it harder to find eggs in general. Con(s): it'll take a while to get there, but we'll get there.

3. Auction timers don't begin until the first person bids. Or, an auction that ends with no bids will send you a notification asking if you'd like to repost the auction with the same parameters as before. This isn't really a solution for egg market stagnation, just a way to make it easier to re-auction things that aren't selling. Personally most of my frustration with auctions comes from having to manually resubmit items that didn't sell.

That is normal. Whenever something new comes, people throw themself at it like starving dogs, its not new to see at any game, Flight Rising has this everytime a new dragon/gene/item is out and ypu can see the prices fall like stones within the second week.
