This site's friend system can be a little confusing because it's simpler than people think. Currently it works like this: you can add any user as a friend without their knowledge/permission. However your friends list isn't on your profile; it's on the right side of your PM page. So if your friend added you, the way to "accept" their request is to go to their profile and add them.
