So, I learned something about planted tanks recently, and that is, if you have shrimp do not use liquid fertilizers

Apparently some of the ingredients can be harmful to fragile critters like shrimp, as I found out by accidentally losing my trio of blue velvet shrimp. They were in the hexagon I was using to grow out some anubias and java fern, unfortunately I didn't find out until too late that the fertilizer I was using on the plants could harm them.

Hopefully this little PSA will prevent others from having this experience, as I felt very guilty. I thought shrimps were hardy little cleaners, but I guess they are vulnerable in some cases.
