Komodo has said that a breeding system isn't planned at the moment, but I cautiously like the idea. My view is that breeding should be a way to obtain exclusive pets, such as hybrids (pre-designed, not randomized) and pre-evos. I wouldn't want to be able to get pets that can already be obtained through hoards because that would lower their value, and be kind of boring since pixpets don't have values that affect their performance, like Natures or IVs.

This seems like something for the future though, since it would take a lot of work.

While I'm not overly enthusiastic about the idea of breeding and hybrid pets due to the amount of work and other details to work over, such as things like it lowering the value of hoard eggs,
I do like the idea of maybe breeding two pets with overlapping colors ensures the egg will hatch a certain color, or will have a low chance of hatching into a variant color
