There is a beginner's guide here - pixpet.net/forum.php?section=posts&t=461&title=Site-Discussion---Getting-started-on-Pixpets%21 but it's kind of a lot to read, so I'll list some tips I've come across!

1. Always combine your seeds, try to only plant high grade seeds (80+ imo). Pumpkins and plants will be used in potions, and the higher grade your ingredients are, the higher grade your potion will be, which will increase the effectiveness. 2. If you haven't used your starter potions already, consider saving some of them. As your pet gets higher level, they'll find better grade/rarer things, but using said potions will also get them more hexp as they'll find more items, do think about it carefully! At the very least you should use your plant pot potion so you can start growing two plants.

3. Potions can only be used on hoards for a pet if they match the colour of the pet. Your starter is White, so if you have any white pumpkins or white pumpkin seeds, save the pumpkins! You'll need them later when you start to make potions, some potions also require pumpkin flowers, which involves harvesting when the pumpkin is at the "blooming" stage.

Basically I'd just advise you to hoard potion ingredients that you find, maybe try to sell some grade 100 seeds you won't use for extra PC (you can look at the cooking page to see what potion uses what plant, you can kinda plan ahead and see what you might wanna grow), and watch out for auctions with items you need but can't grow/don't have.

I would like to add my two cents about one thing - Voxel Fruit seeds and Trinut seeds are both really good to plant, as they are universal evolution plants and so can always sell. If you're reasonable with your selling price, you can make some good money. Sprouting Pumpkins are very good at selling as well, which is the second stage for pumpkins. (There are three stages: Blooming, Sprouting, and Full-Grown, which I forgot the specific name for. I believe it takes about 4 hours for a pumpkin to grow through stages.)

Choose whichever seeds work for you, but remember that once they're planted, you can't get the seeds back. You can only have 2 at a time, and they take days to fully grow, so if you plan to switch one or both out often for other plants, you'll have to exercise a lot of patience.
